Project: Brook Street, Mayfair
Client: Grosvenor Estates
Role: Site / Project Management
Value: £2.3m

Scope:

Full internal and external refurbishment of an historically and culturally important 300-year-old, Grade II listed building in Mayfair.

The works programme included a major excavation of the basement to provide level access throughout, which involved the careful removal of approx. 400 tonnes of hardcore from large basement adjacent to Claridge’s Hotel. This required a complex series of 8 travellators running from the basement, through the building, out of a first floor window, over a pavement and on to an awaiting removal truck. All of this, without any spillages and without disturbing either neighbours or pedestrians - safety and discretion.

In addition to the three floors of refurbishment to CAT A standard, this project also featured the delicate removal (and replica replacement) of a rare, 40ft Indian Bean Tree (complete with Tree Preservation Order issued by Westminster Council) from the inner courtyard.
